3 Spiritual Ways to Celebrate Halloween

Have you already been carving your pumpkins for Halloween? ?Aside from bringing out your jack-o-lanterns and dressing up in scary (or slutty!) costumes, the spirit of Hallow’s Eve brings forth spiritual energies that you can use to your advantage.

Originally, the 31st of October is a celebration of the dead. It came from Samhain, a Celtic festival that is also a celebration of the last harvest of the year and the end of summer.

Today, Halloween has become a fun celebration where parties are thrown in every bar, people getting drunk, and straight out partying on the day itself. However, there are still some of those who celebrate it in a sacred and spiritual way.

And if you’re one of those people, then you’ve come to the right page.

Connect with the Spirit

Halloween is a time when spirits are more active. The veil between the physical and spiritual realm is thin thus making us more aware of what’s happening in the spirit world.

Instead of getting spooked by that, it’s the perfect time that you tune into the spirit realm. You can do so by simply honoring your ancestors and loved ones who have passed on.

The spirits will likely send you signs that they’re around you. It could be as simple as the spirits showing up in your dreams or it could be a bit more complex as electrical occurrences.

In some instances, they will make their presence felt by catching a whiff of their scent or showing up as an insect or animal.

Face Your Shadow Self.

Our shadow selves are the ones we keep hidden. Our shadow is the monster quietly lurking the dark. It is a part of ourselves that we don’t like. The shadow is made up of the mistakes we did in the past that we haven’t fully moved on from.

Halloween is the best time to release our shadow side — not to cause harm to anyone, but to finally release its grasp in our lives.

Use this time to acknowledge your shadow self. Shed light onto the parts of yourself that you are ashamed of. Acknowledge their existence, no matter how difficult, and accept that it doesn’t define us.

To get in touch with your shadow self, sit in a quiet place and let your mind focus on your breathing.

Picture a doorway. This doorway will lead you back to the present. Now, let yourself travel away from the doorway to find your Shadow. Call out to it softly. Be gentle and encouraging.

It may take some time and a little bit of encouragement, but your Shadow self will come. When it does, be open and loving. Remember that this is a neglected part of yourself. Make it feel comfortable with you and embrace it.

When you’re done, walk towards the doorway and say goodbye to your shadow. You have finally set it free…

Release, Let Go

The time of Halloween is a chance for you to release and let go of things that are no longer beneficial in your life.

Why don’t you celebrate Halloween by opening up new chapters and ending old ones? Make an effort to let go of negative vibes that are tied to past patterns, situations, and thoughts. They no longer have a space in your life.

You may also do an energy cleanse to help you better release everything that you need to. Draw up a nice salt bath or why don’t you practice a cleansing meditation?

Energy cleanse meditation is pretty easy. You can simply smudge your home with a sage stick and meditate. Sage is associated with Samhain rituals as well.

Aside from letting go, honor what you have achieved in the past year. Just like with the falling leaves, you’re shedding what has gone and now you’re ready to tap into the power of new cycles in your life.

Remember, Halloween is not to be feared.

In fact, it’s a wonderful opportunity to exert more effort towards releasing what needs to go in your life, honoring your intuition, and looking forward to the many beautiful possibilities that are now coming your way.

Halloween pushes you to welcome the unknown and bring in an extra “spooky” magic into your life.

There’s more to Halloween than pumpkins and bats. If you care to look, you can tap into your spiritual self more during this period. Face your fears, embrace all scary things, accept your shadow self, and bask in the experience.

During this time, you can also ask Archangel Michael and your spirit guides for assistance. They can bring in calming energy and protect you as well.

Celebrate the magic of the Halloween season and walk towards the path to a more spiritual you. It’s a life-changing experience and it will bring refreshing energy in your life that will make you feel and think more positive.

Happy Halloween!
